BOSS has just introduced the Acoustic Singer amp series, a new line of stage amplifiers for acoustic guitar and vocals. Equipped\u00a0with many innovative\u00a0design\u00a0elements, the Acoustic Singer Pro and Acoustic Singer Live produce\u00a0rich,\u00a0natural tone with\u00a0class-defying punch and presence. Compact, powerful, and packed with creative sound\u00a0tools, Acoustic Singer amps deliver next-level performance for serious acoustic players and singing guitarists.<\/p>\n

Natural Sound Through Inspired\u00a0Design<\/h2>\n

The BOSS engineers that developed the Acoustic Singer amps are extremely passionate about acoustic guitar sound. They pushed the limits to improve on past designs, developing fresh\u00a0approaches to\u00a0accurately\u00a0capture the instrument\u2019s three-dimensional tone and fast transient response.<\/p>\n

Newly designed bi-amped power sections with extended peak power provide full\u00a0dynamic\u00a0range and lots of punch. The woofer’s special cone material eliminates low-frequency distortion that can\u00a0muddy the sound, resulting in tight performance that\u00a0fully reproduces the acoustic\u2019s natural feel. These characteristics\u00a0are further supported\u00a0with a unique cabinet construction method that eliminates unwanted\u00a0resonances.<\/p>\n

The Acoustic Singer amps deliver enhanced projection with\u00a0a tilt-back cabinet and other design elements.<\/p><\/div>\n

The acoustic guitar produces a rich, diffused sound field, and great care was taken to reproduce this\u00a0experience when\u00a0playing through the amp. To this end, the woofer’s unique cone shape offers\u00a0enhanced projection, while\u00a0the special dome tweeter provides wide high-frequency dispersion. In fact, even the grill cloth material was carefully chosen to minimize\u00a0the restriction of high frequencies. For applications where a softer sound is desired, you have the ability\u00a0to attenuate the tweeter level from the panel.<\/p>\n

The Acoustic Singer Pro is equipped with an 8-inch speaker, dome tweeter, and 120 watts of power. The Acoustic Singer Live is slightly more compact, and comes with a 6.5-inch speaker, dome tweeter, and 60 watts of power. Beyond these differences, the amplifiers offer identical feature\u00a0sets.<\/p>\n

Dual Channels<\/h2>\n

The Acoustic Singer amps feature\u00a0two independent channels. Each includes\u00a0a three-band EQ and high-quality reverb, plus a phase switch and notch function for feedback control. The channel\u00a0inputs\u00a0also have\u00a0discrete analog circuits with\u00a0high headroom for rich, responsive\u00a0sound.<\/p>\n

The Acoustic Singer amps feature intuitive panel controls for getting great sounds quickly.<\/p><\/div>\n

A dedicated guitar channel features an Acoustic Resonance function that restores natural acoustic tone to stage guitars with undersaddle piezo pickups. It uses advanced BOSS processing to bring\u00a0back the rich, woody resonance that makes playing the acoustic so inspiring. A simple switch allows you to toggle through three different Acoustic Resonance settings, or to bypass the processing entirely. The guitar channel also features two types of\u00a0chorus effects.<\/p>\n

The vocal channel has an XLR combo input\u00a0with selectable phantom power, plus a great-sounding\u00a0delay\/echo effect. Even if\u00a0you\u2019re only using the amp with\u00a0a guitar, you don’t have to let\u00a0the vocal channel sit idle. For example, you\u00a0can use\u00a0it\u00a0to mic up your acoustic, or to blend a second pickup or internal mic installed in the instrument.<\/p>\n

Automatic Harmonies and Built-In Looper<\/h2>\n

Acoustic Singer amps feature\u00a0an onboard vocal harmony function derived from the VE-8<\/a> Acoustic Singer pedal. It provides real-time harmonies that follow the guitar input, making it easy to achieve impressive vocal sounds automatically. Each amp is also equipped with a looper for\u00a0recording on-the-fly backing with vocals and guitar.\u00a0This\u00a0provides a great way to spice up\u00a0live\u00a0performances and have more fun\u00a0during\u00a0practice sessions.<\/p>\n

Advanced Connectivity<\/h2>\n

The Acoustic Singer amps feature two balanced DI outputs.\u00a0Each has a mode switch for outputting both channels mixed together, or individual channels direct or post-effects. This provides great flexibility for connecting to a stage PA and\u00a0other devices.<\/p>\n

Using\u00a0the aux input, you can plug in your smartphone and play music for live backing or practice. There\u2019s also\u00a0a\u00a0USB jack,\u00a0which provides a convenient way to record tracks and song ideas directly to a computer DAW. In addition, multiple jacks are on hand for connecting optional footswitches<\/a> to control looper, harmony, and effects functions while performing.<\/p>\n
